To ease the process of selecting right candidate for admitting into various IITs, the MHRD has now proposed the idea of conducting the IIT JEE 2012 (Joint entrance Exam) 3 to 4 times in a year. Moreover, its score will be valid for 2 years in a row. Resulting from this proposal, an IIT aspirant can now attempt IIT JEE 4 times in a year to take admission in one of the IITs.
At present, an aspirant can attempt only twice and that too at a gap of one year. Once he has taken exam, he has to wait for an entire year to attempt second time. Presently, the entrance exam is valid for one year only.
The main objective to take this initiative is to ease the pressure on the engineering aspirants that starts building from many years before the actual exam. This initiative is in the same direction in which the centre has decided to take single common national level entrance exam for taking admission to different engineering institutes in India. It will ease the selection process by knocking off multiple entrance exams.
The initiative has been taken by the center to reduce mental pressure of engineering aspirants from taking multiple entrance exams by introducing a single national level entrance test. It is further explained that this common entrance test will take into account all the engineering institutes funded by central government. These institutes include 30 NITs, 15 IITs, IISERs, 4 IIITs and few deemed universities. This system will combine both national level engineering entrance exams, AIEEE and IITJEE to create this new entrance exam.
