IIT Roorkee – Indian Institute of Technology

   

IIT Roorkee was established in late 1847 by the British Government with the name of Thomason college of Civil Engineering.

The Indian Government has renamed this institute in late 1949 with IIT Roorkee and has been added in the group of other IITs like IIT Delhi,  IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras and IIT Guwahati all across India.

IIT Roorkee is considering as Institutions of National Importance along with other IITs in India by Indian Government announced on Sep 21, 2001.

    To take admission in IIT Roorkee ..you have to qualify the Joint Entrance Examination known as the JEE and for B.Tech Civil …must get a rank under 2100(AIR).

    Fees in IIT Roorkee is around Rs. 40,000 per semester and around Rs.9000 for reserved categories.
