JEE Mains in a New Format Effective from April 7, 2013

CBSE issued a notification saying the JEE Mains exam comes with a new format, effective from 2013. The examination, which qualifies students for admission into undergraduate engineering programs in IIT’s and other engineering institutions, will be held offline on April 7, 2013, under the new format. The online examination will be conducted between Aril 8 and 25 of the same year, reported an official from CBSE.

According to this new JEE Main format, the examination for admission to NITs, IITs and other centrally funded engineering institutes will be effective from year 2013. The exam will be conducted in two parts, JEE Mains and JEE Advanced.

The notification by CBSE revealed that only the top highest scoring 1.50 lakh candidates, based on their performances in JEE Main examination, can qualify for JEE Advanced. Further, admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology will be based on all-India ranking in JEE Advanced subject, category wise, with the criteria that the candidates are among the 20 percentile of all successful candidates in Class XII board examinations held by respective education boards.

sir ,i get 44 no in IIT Mains can i get a AIEE/NIIT college….
