The First ever CMAT exam national level commenced on 20th Feb

CMAT also better known as common management aptitude test which is the 1^st national level entrance test commenced from February 20. This online entrance exam was proposed mainly to replace other management exams in future, keeping just CAT as exceptional entrance test. This test will take place in period of just 9 days which will conclude on 28the February 2012. It was expected that nearly 2.5 lakh students are appearing for the CMAT exam but only 70,000 turned up for test across India. This test will be conducted in 69 major parts of the country. It is expected that nearly 7500 will take test on 1^st day of entrance test. It is expected by veterans that CMAT will soon takeover most of the management entrances before 2013. The dates for the exams this year surfaced slightly late and by that time, many entrance exam tests dates were announced such that AICTE decided that this year CMAT will be difficult, perhaps didn’t make it mandatory. There are certain cities like Jaipur, Mumbai and Pune which are reported for having maximum CMAT registrations this year.

Officials also said that due lack of awareness about the CMAT exam; the registrations are less this year but slowly all the registrations will significantly increase from next year.
