The Meta University concept to set up IIT-D design innovation center

The new announcement by the IIT-D is to set up design innovation center based on meta-university concept. This initiative was taken up by IIT –D because the meta university started in the master’s course in Mathematics education lacked of launching any course under the project. This course was similar to Jamia Millia university, but there it was successful.

The institute as not yet planned out the modalities for the project. The project is targeting at starting a research association with JNU for the fields of education , public health and changes in the climate. The IIT-D graduating students will receive a degree which will be joined and have the logos of all 4 participating institutes, under the new academic curriculum that will be launched.

The design innovation center at the IIT-D will help the students who have a mindset of entrepreneur to convert their ideas into products. The design innovation center will start functioning within the period of 6 months. The approval for the proposal has been given by the HRD ministry. They have also allocated funds of Rs.2.5 crore for constructing it.

The IIT-D has pull-up their socks in the meantime to celebrate its 43^rd convocation on the 28^th October 2012. Here around 1786 students will be awarded with the degrees.
